Ugh

Mon May 18, 2009, 9:43 PM
Getting so fed up with the comments I'm seeing on some really good nude shots. The immaturity, the perversion. It's like, if there are tits, they must be squeezed, if there's a vagina, it must be licked, or the photographer is some sort of monster that will roast in hell for the work they do. What total and utter bull shit. I mean, I guess I shouldn't expect so much from an art site largely populated by tweens, but I suspect that they're not the only ones at fault here.

I'll admit, some pictures toe the line, kind of like some sites out there (MET-ART comes to mind) ride the fine line between art and erotica, but unless a model is laying there spread eagle holding her lips apart, or inserting something, it's not freaking porn! Sorry if I'm being overtly graphic here, but not all nudity is porn, and there's nothing wrong with porn I suppose, this just wouldn't be the place for it. People need to learn to grow up and deal with sexuality, and hell, maybe even learn that naked doesn't even have to be sexual. Stupid, up-tight, repressed, tools. Ugh, rant over, you all get my point.

In other news, I have a couple gigs of pictures I took in Colorado last summer. I took them for a family friend to use a book that he's putting together. I've been too lazy to even get them onto my hard drive let alone look through them and pick out some choice shots to upload. But rest assured that at some point this year I'll be getting some new stuff up here for the first time in well, ever I guess. I also have plans to get some more pics as do some hiking somewhere along the AT this summer. Probably by this fall I'll have a boatload of nature photographs up.

Pics to be uploaded soon...

So I went on a road trip recently, and while I didn't go overboard on taking pics, I got several really good ones with my camera, and I have another 250+ to go through when my friend's dad sends me a copy of the images that I shot on their camera. I was looking for photo evidence at the site of a 40 year old drowning (don't ask), but from where I was sitting it was just some fucking awesome scenery. So look out for some new stuff within the next few weeks. I'll try to get my stuff up sooner, and really push to get a copy of the other images as soon as possible.

Semi good news

I'm taking a college art course, and looking forward to doing more this year, in addition to just feeling more creative. That means that some of my Graphic Design projects and inspired works might find their way online. I still have yet to find a location around this part of Missouri that's photogenic, but once I get my car working I plan to do a bit of exploring with my camera. It really kills me that I have a place to show off my work, and that I haven't been doing anything with it. Hopefully I wont be to lazy to do something with it now that I'll have some work. *shrug*

Still nothing new to go up, I miss taking photos so much, there just hasn't been much time for me to devote to them. Happily, when I return to college I plan to switch to an art major and I should have lots more time to play with a camera. I really need to get my hands on some new lenses though, and a nice new scanner.

I might submit some of the Haikus I've been messing around with lately if I get around to it. Oh well, it'll probably be another nice long while before I get around to updating this again.

Back?

Well, I'm back on for the first time in a long time, sadly with nothing new to put up 'cept the ID, and I just realized that I missed a comma in there. Bah.

So what keeps me around, seeing all this art by other people, yeah, some of it isn't great, but some of it really rocks in my humble opinion. So yeah, keep up the good work, maybe I'll get some shots in this summer.
